Q: The city treats my water and it seems OK. Do I need to consider PureHomeRO™?
A: Yes. Municipalities are required to deliver treated water. However, they do not soften the water or purify it. In fact, more than 140 contaminants with no enforceable safety limits are found in the U.S. drinking water supply.
Generally, municipalities do a good job at what is required of them by law, however, some homeowners feel the need to ensure the water in their home is as good as it can be. PureHomeRO™ reduces hardness and microscopic contaminants and pathogens such as protozoa cysts (including cryptosporidium and Giardia lamblia), bacteria (including E-Coli) and viruses.
Q: I've read about the risks of chlorine in my water. Does PureHomeRO™ address this?
A: Yes. Municipalities are required to inject significant levels of chlorine prior to the distribution of water. This helps to ensure that waterborne bacteria are eliminated along the route of contaminated, and often very old, pipes. However, once inside your home, chlorine is not recommended for drinking or for ongoing contact with skin via showering. PureHomeRO™ is very effective at taking out the chlorine at the point-of-entry-to a home.
Q: My water tastes and smells bad. What's the cause of that and can PureHomeRO™ fix it?
A: Yes. Taste and odor problems are taken care of because PureHomeRO™
integrates several water conditioning technologies, each targeted to reduce or eliminate specific water contaminants such as chlorine, iron, hydrogen sulfide, nitrates, lead, arsenic, radium, copper, sodium and bacteria.
For example, two commercial-grade carbon filters in PureHomeRO™ allow significant "contact time" to be very effective in reducing chlorine, a major cause of smelly water. Also, the rotten-egg smell of bad water is typically caused by hydrogen sulfide which is reduced via the reverse osmosis (RO) technology of PureHomeRO™. Additionally, when it comes to improving taste, high levels of microscopic dissolved solids, which can cause poor taste, are also significantly reduced.
Q: I hear about many types of water filtration and conditioning. What makes PureHomeRO™ unique?
A: First and foremost, PureHomeRO™ is a whole-house system and not simply a "point-of-use" system. It is the only fully integrated system based on five stages of water filtration: sediment filter, carbon filter, reverse osmosis, carbon post filter and UV light. Together, these technologies provide complete assurance for the homeowner.
Q: What's the difference between a water softener and PureHomeRO™?
A: There is a very fundamental difference. Simply stated, a water softener does just that…only softens water. PureHomeRO™ softens the water as well as purifies the water. It is important to note, that a water softener uses large amounts of salt to alter the water chemistry by exchanging hardness elements (calcium and magnesium) with sodium. While reducing hardness, this addition of sodium into the home's water supply can result in a "slippery" feeling on the skin as well as discharging salt into the waste water system. Alternatively, PureHomeRO™ simply stops the hardness from even entering the home's water supply.
Q: I already have a water filter for the drinking water in the kitchen. Why should I purchase a PureHomeRO™?
A: Some people have water filters on plastic pitchers or mounted on their kitchen faucet. Those products strive to clean the water with just carbon. However, not only does carbon have significant limitations in terms of contaminants it can remove, but the "contact time" with the water is so short that truly clean water is simply not possible.
Other people may have more aggressive kitchen filter systems but the fundamental problem is that they are limited to the kitchen and don't address all the other water-related issues throughout the home. PureHomeRO™ purifies ALL the water in the home…drinking water, water used for cooking, bathing, laundry, dishwashers, etc.
Q: I'm on well water. My water is an ongoing problem in terms of staining and household odors. Can PureHomeRO™ help?
A: Absolutely. Because many homes on well water suffer from high levels of hardness, dissolved solids, sulfur and iron, PureHomeRO™ is an important choice to consider. In fact, the product is specifically engineered for challenging well water supplies.
Q: I'm part of a homeowners association. Can PureHomeRO™ work for us?
A: Sure. Water SolutionZ International has a product version specifically designed for multi-unit buildings. The equipment is simply situated at a point along the main water line for the development or building. It does not require any equipment within individual homes. PureHomeRO™ can be tailored to serve multiple buildings within an association. In fact, one of our customers has 720 luxury condos in one development (via 11 buildings) enjoying purified water by PureHomeRO™.
Q: How much does PureHomeRO™ cost?
A: PureHomeRO™ can be purchased either through an approved home builder, an authorized water treatment dealer or direct from Water SolutionZ International, Inc. Prices vary depending on the model needed to effectively treat the water coupled with the storage tank required. Following a site inspection and water test, a specific, written quote is provided along with detailed terms and conditions.
As a general rule, customers immediately begin to offset the cost of PureHomeRO™ by lowering household costs such as bottled water, energy for water appliances, and soaps and detergents. Longer term, appliances such as water heaters, dishwashers, washing machines, humidifiers, etc. last longer and require less maintenance.
Q: Where is PureHomeRO™ installed in my home? Can I install it myself?
A: PureHomeRO™ has a modest footprint of 36"x 54". For single family homes the unit is typically installed in the basement or, if no basement, on the ground floor near the water supply (usually near the garage). For multi-unit buildings such as condos, PureHomeRO™ is typically installed in an enclosed common area near the water supply line. Installation by a professional is required.
Q: How often does PureHomeRO™ need to be serviced and at what cost?
A: Because PureHomeRO™ is highly effective at removing contaminants from the incoming water supply, the filters need to be changed two to six times per year depending on the water chemistry. Prior to purchasing PureHomeRO™ a detailed water test will enable the technician to estimate the service frequency and cost.
Q: What is the warranty for PureHomeRO™?
A: PureHomeRO™ comes with a limited warranty for five years if purchased with the renewable service agreement. Specific terms and conditions of the warranty are part of the Purchase Agreement to be reviewed prior to purchase.
